Responsible for to maintaining the operations and appearance of Wanzek Construction’s equipment

1.Fleet maintenance management
2.Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance on all equipment, troubleshooting, determine if repairs will be done in the field, Wanzek’s shop, or outsourced.
3.Update tool inventory
4.Properly complete a JHA prior to any work function that poses a potential of injury
5.Operate equipment to diagnose problems and inspect equipment for defects
6.Ensure all equipment has an equipment ID (logo, unit numbers, digital photos)
7.Maintain proper record keeping
8.DOT Issues: verify USDOT annual inspections in trucks and on file in office
9.Equipment safety (i.e. backup alarms, lights, seat belts, fire extinguishers, rigging, etc.)
10.Show a general interest in all basic machines, including crane safety (anti two blocks, rigging, crane maintenance daily log book/annual inspection, etc.); investigate or question others to ensure logs and two blocks are correct, etc.
11.Occasionally travel to jobsites for repairs and inspections, review field maintenance to ensure it is done properly and review maintenance reports
12.Review maintenance records and major repairs with operators and superintendents to ensure crews are self-sufficient and responsible for their own maintenance
13.Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
14.Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair
15.Communicate to obtain needed parts
16.Examine assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended
17.Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order
18.Road test vehicles when required
19.Report machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor
20.Keep shop area neat and clean
21.Maintain and account for all shop tools and manuals; return them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received
22.Understand, keep abreast of and comply with federal, state and local regulations such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
23.Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner
24.Report any safety issues immediately to management


•One year certificate from college or technical school or one to two years related experience
•ASE Certification preferred

•Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Wanzek’s Zero Injury principles
•Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
•Write simple correspondence
•Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization
•Add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
•Compute rate, ratio and percent
•Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
•Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
