Heating Plant Manager

Responsible for planning, directing and supervising the 24-hour operation of the Heating Plant/Steam lines for the generation and distribution of steam for heating, cooling, hot water and cooking for the NDSU Campus and external customers; provide overall administrative direction to insure the effective operation of the Heating Plant facility, all associated equipment, coal handling, stand-by generators and steam lines.
Minimum Qualifications: Assoc Degree or Technical Certificate – Industrial Boiler Technology or closely related program. Five (5) years experience with maintenance, repair and high pressure operation in a multi-fuel type facility. Three year of supervisory experience to include close & effective supervision of five or more full time equivalent
employees. Three (3) years of high pressure boiler operation experience using multiple fuels in addition to the required work experience would be acceptable in lieu of the required educational requirement. Boiler operation license or certificate comparable to Minnesota Chief Class Grade B or higher. Valid Drivers License Advanced mechanical skills, ability to operate hand tools, power tools, automated boiler equipment, computerized work stations, water analysis lab equipment, diagnostic equipment Ability to operate pay loader, tandem trucks Computer software – Microsoft products Good interpersonal/oral/written communication skills
